Apple Cake in a Jar
It's apple picking time here in New England. Apples, a healthy food are great to use in recipes. I love to make a Waldorf Salad (apples, celery, walnuts, raisins) but I also love to make apple cake. And I found this great recipe where you can bake the apple cake in jars and keep on your shelf for a year. The Apple Cake in a Jar also makes a great hostess gift.
Apples are: fat free; saturated fat free; sodium free; cholesterol free; and an excellent source of fiber. For more information about apples visit the U.S. Apple Association web site.
